iOS Developer - Media Casting
We are seeking a Senior iOS Developer to support feature development for a mobile media casting platform. The contractor will work on key functionality that enables seamless casting from iOS devices to a range of receivers such as TVs, speakers, and tablets. The current focus includes implementing Terms of Service flows and developing Wake on LAN (WoL) capabilities to support casting to sleeping devices.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Objective-C, experience working across mobile and backend teams, and a strong background in building iOS features from the ground up. This role involves tight deadlines, cross-platform coordination, and delivering high-impact work within a fast-paced environment.
Scope:
* Design, build, and release iOS features for a mobile casting application, primarily in Objective-C.
* Implement Terms of Service support within the iOS platform.
* Lead the development of Wake on LAN capabilities for casting to sleeping devices.
* Work closely with Android counterparts to ensure platform parity and a cohesive user experience.
* Participate in architectural planning, feature design, and iterative development cycles.
* Deliver high-quality code on tight timelines, particularly in preparation for Q3 milestones.
Required:
* 5+ years of hands-on iOS development experience with multiple production app releases.
* Deep experience coding in Objective-C within production environments.
* Strong understanding of iOS networking and low-level network behaviors.
* Ability to define and implement features from scratch, including architecture and design.
* Comfortable navigating fast-moving development environments with evolving requirements.
Pluses:
* Experience working on casting technologies or media platforms (e.g., AirPlay, Roku, Fire TV).
* Familiarity with Wake on LAN, socket communication, or custom network protocols.
* Exposure to cross-platform development workflows that support both Android and iOS.
* Experience working with non-Android TV platforms (e.g., LG webOS, Tizen, Linux-based receivers).
* Prior contributions to media playback SDKs, streaming features, or session handoff experiences.
* Familiarity with terms of service, user consent flows, or related UX on mobile platforms.
Estimated Min Rate: $70.00
Estimated Max Rate: $80.00
