Patent Search Analysts specialize in conducting patent searches for clients. They utilize their technical background and experiences to understand each invention or patent disclosure and apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to conduct a focused and comprehensive search for prior art references for the search report.

Search analysts engage with constantly new inventions and cutting-edge technologies, with each project offering unique and diverse challenges. Analysts work on various types of projects, including:

- Patentability

- Invalidity

- State of the Art

- Freedom to Operate Searches

This is a production-based role with variable compensation paid bi-weekly based on completed assignments. The position offers rewarding compensation based on performance with flexible earning potential.


Position Responsibilities

- Conduct high-quality patent search projects

- Meet deadlines and manage assignments on the docket

- Communicate effectively with staff and team members


Required Skills & Abilities

Performance Requirements

- Strong technical understanding of invention disclosures

- Ability to identify search focus areas

- Effective problem-solving in constructing and conducting patent searches using various search engines

- Critical thinking to analyze results and complete detailed search reports

- Self-motivated and capable of working efficiently

- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines


Qualifications

- BS or higher in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences (Medical Devices), or a related physical engineering field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering)

- Patent law or legal experience is a plus

- Prior patent search or research experience is a plus, including familiarity with search engines

Part-Time Employees
