Job Overview:
The nurse practitioner functions as an independent care provider in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. The care is characterized by comprehensive health assessments and management of patients with acute and/or chronic health problems in the Heart and Vascular services (cardiology, cardiac cath lab and non-invasive cardiology). Hospital APP coverage for Heart and Vascular patients.

Qualification
-Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of New Jersey
- Certified Nurse Practitioner in the state of New Jersey
- Masters/Doctors prepared in Nursing from an accredited program
- ACLS/BLS certified
- Must have cardiac and/or critical care experience
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Scheduling Requirement:
40 Hours

Essential Functions
-Conducts thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examination and diagnostic test results
-Develops and implements comprehensive care plans for patients undergoing cardiac procedures and/or admitted for further evaluation/treatment
-Monitor patients hemodynamic status, ordering, adjusting medications and interventions as needed
-Provide pre and post procedure/ heart failure education and support to patients and their families
- Facilitate discharges for heart and vascular service line patients
- Provide education to staff and community regarding cardiac conditions and procedures
- participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
- work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including cardiologists, other NPs, nurses, and social workers
