Job Description

What You Will Do:

We are seeking a Process Engineer to focus on our LRU (Line Replaceable Unit) / Box Build Processes. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of all related manufacturing equipment and processes required to assemble a high-quality product in a repeatable and cost-effective manner. You will support LRU manufacturing and environmental testing processes, the programming and support of automated torque systems and work with the design engineering team on various projects. In addition, you will assist with NPIs (New Product Introductions) by providing DFM (Design for Manufacturing) feedback and assisting in the creation of PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).

This is an on-site position, supporting first shift manufacturing operations at our headquarters in Oak Creek, WI. You will report directly to the Process Engineering Manager.

How You Will Do It:



  • Create, update, and manage documentation (i.e., work instructions, routings, and other department procedures).
  • Provides technical support for critical process and product issues on the production floor.
  • Execute engineering/manufacturing change orders.
  • Develop and maintain in-process quality control systems to ensure product quality.
  • Drive and implement continuous improvement projects with input from production personnel.
  • Provide ongoing product and process improvements to meet quality, continuous improvement, and production goals.
  • Create and support PFMEA and product/process risk analysis of new products.
  • Develop and support new manufacturing processes/equipment.
  • Program, set up, and debug box-build equipment. This includes environmental test chambers, torque drivers and a pneumatic press.
  • Coordinate prototype builds and process development.
  • Support design for manufacturability.
  • Review engineering change orders.



What We Look For:

Required



  • Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics, mechanical, industrial/manufacturing engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in box assembly process/manufacturing engineering.
  • Must have strong knowledge of mechanical assembly and processing technologies.
  • Must be able to interpret mechanical drawings and have a working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
  • Must have a working knowledge of CAD software and ERP systems (preferably IFS).
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).



Desired



  • Environmental test chamber programming, support and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-620.
  • Experience making quality calls on Non-Conforming Material through a Material Review Board process.
  • Experience using SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Familiarity with 3D printing (FDM).
