As aLead Architect, you will serve as the technical domain expert for application and data architecture across Capital Group's corporate capabilities-including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Global Risk Management, Office Services, Global Communications, and IT. You will lead the development of target state architectures and data strategies, manage information models, and help integrate AI-driven solutions using platforms such as Microsoft Copilot Studio.

This is a high-impact role within the GTSA (Global Technology Strategy & Architecture) team, where you'll collaborate with business and IT leaders to drive innovation, transformation, and data-centric decision-making aligned with Capital Group's long-term strategic vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and communicate the strategic technology direction, target state architecture, and data strategy for corporate technology portfolios.

  • Own and evolve solution blueprints, information models, taxonomies, and metadata frameworks to support scalable, intelligent systems.

  • Provide architectural guidance to development teams, leveraging deep knowledge of our technology ecosystem and industry trends.

  • Architect and lead the implementation of AI-powered solutions, including copilots and embedded vendor AI capabilities, using platforms like Microsoft Copilot Studio.

  • Partner with business leaders to translate strategic objectives into actionable architecture roadmaps.

  • Mentor and provide oversight to embedded architects and engineering teams to ensure alignment with enterprise standards.

  • Identify opportunities for data-driven automation, process optimization, and enhanced knowledge management.

  • Ensure architectural compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or a related technical field.

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture with a strong focus on data management and information architecture.

  • Demonstrated success in leading digital transformation initiatives, including modernization of legacy systems and implementation of large-scale vendor solutions.

  • Deep expertise in modern application, data, and integration architectures (e.g., domain-driven design, event-driven architecture, microservices, serverless, APIs, data lakes, Lakehouse, data mesh).

  • Strong background in data modeling, semantic architecture, and enterprise information management.

  • Hands-on experience with AI implementation, including Microsoft Copilot Studio, AI Gateway, and integration of GenAI capabilities from platforms such as SAP, Workday, and ServiceNow.

  • Proven ability to evaluate emerging technologies and recommend implementation patterns and standards.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and guide strategic decisions across technical and business stakeholders.

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to lead and influence architects and engineers toward delivering well-architected, data-centric solutions.

  • Experience with enterprise platforms such as SAP, Workday, Dayforce, or ServiceNow is a plus.

  • Familiarity with corporate data domains such as Revenue, Expense, Employee, Client, and Investment Products is a plus.

  • Background in the financial services or asset management industry is a plus.

Southern California Base Salary Range: $194,862-$311,779

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital's annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
