Position Summary
We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineering Manager to lead and develop a high-performing Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) team. In this key role, you'll ensure our supply chain meets the highest quality standards, support continuous improvement initiatives, and work cross-functionally to resolve supplier-related challenges and drive performance.
What You'll Do
*Lead, mentor, and develop Supplier Quality Engineers, setting clear performance goals and providing regular coaching and feedback.
*Oversee the resolution of supplier quality issues, acting as a primary point of contact between internal teams and suppliers.
*Analyze supplier performance trends and risks, recommending and implementing data-driven improvements.
*Be a part of the core team that works towards the selection and development of new and existing suppliers, working cross-functionally to evaluate technical capabilities, assess risks, and align with business objectives.
*Drive quality improvements in incoming inspection (IQC) processes and lead measurement and testing method development.
*Ensure alignment between Penumbra's inspection methodologies and those of our suppliers.
*Lead investigations into supplier-related failures and drive effective corrective actions.
*Manage the SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Request), Supplier Source Qualification (SSQ), Supplier Change (SC), and Supplier Notification (SN) processes.
*Support supplier qualifications, maintain the Approved Supplier List (ASL), and lead continuous improvements in qualification processes.
*Represent Supplier Quality in internal and external audits.
*Stay current on evolving regulatory requirements and integrate them into supplier quality systems.

$138,000 to $203,000
What We're Looking For
*Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a scientific discipline
*7+ years of experience in quality systems, preferably in a regulated medical device environment
*Proven leadership and team development experience
*Strong knowledge of QSR, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulations
*Experience with supplier management, corrective actions, and risk mitigation
*Working knowledge of statistical methods and quality tools; CQE certification is a plus
*Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills
*Ability to travel up to 25%
