The Assistant Teacher supports the educational and developmental needs of students. Under direct supervision, this position assists the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans, providing individualized instruction, and creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. This role contributes to the overall success of the educational program by fostering a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere.


Assists the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that align with the curriculum and educational goals.
Provides individualized support and instruction to students, addressing their unique learning needs and promoting their academic and social development.
Fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment by promoting respect, empathy, and cooperation among students.
Assists in maintaining a safe and clean classroom environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Collaborates with the lead teacher and other staff members to assess student progress, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to support student growth.
Communicates regularly with parents and caregivers, providing updates on student progress, addressing concerns, and fostering a strong home-school partnership.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred: AA or BS in Early Childhood Education or degree in progress

EXPERIENCE:
Preferred: 2 years in Early Childhood setting through observations, volunteering or previous experience

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING:
Required: BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider within 90 days from date of hire; CBC Qualification Letter within 90 days from date of hire
