Job Overview & Essential Functions
Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America's largest Kenworth truck dealership group and leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Fabricator. The Fabricator is responsible for cutting, bending, and finishing parts in preparation for assembly of truck equipment from raw material.
- Performs metal fabrication operations using conventional metal shop equipment, weldingprocesses, and related manufacturing equipment.
- Operates power/press brakes, plasma table, shears, saw, mill lathe and bench machines.
- Responsible for maintaining specified tolerances when fabricating and welding parts in alignment with specifications and general practices.
- Provides solutions or alternative approaches to solve basic technical manufacturing problems.
- Fabricates fixtures and holding devices used during welding and manufacturing processes.
- Provides general shop support activities in support of fabrication projects and assignments, assisting others when needed.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work area, performing all work assignments in accordance with safety, security and business practice requirements, protocols, and policies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Prior fabricating experience.
- Ability to read and interpret procedures, drawings, technical manuals, and diagrams.
- Ability to identify raw material grade and specification from specified markings.
- Ability to operate various machinery such as press brake, plasma table, saw, mill, lathe, etc.
- Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16'.
- Ability to operate windows-based computer systems.
- Ability to follow bills of material in creation of parts kits.
- Ability to work well and effectively communicate with others.
- Must be available to work at heights, confined spaces, and various temperature conditions asrequired.
- Individuals are required to possess their own basic hand tools to perform position responsibilities.
- Standing over 50% of the time while performing welding operations.
- Lift and carry various tools and material up to 125 pounds.
- Push and pull tool carts and parts bins.
- Kneel, squat and stoop 50% of the time while tack welding to reach underneath and on top ofequipment.
- Climb up and down stairs and ladders up to 33% of the time to reach various heights while tackwelding and climb on and off truck equipment.
- Reach below knees and above shoulders to weld and perform other necessary tasks.
