Resiliency and Community Support is a newly formed team that supports the student experience by aligning several programs and functions that support student well-being, sense of belonging, and promotes a supportive, safe campus environment. These professional staff facilitate NC State's Pack Essentials program that supports students in meeting basic needs. Additionally, the team is charged with supporting signature university events such as Packapalooza and critical functions in support of student success such as follow-up on individual student inquiries, absence verification, and written student complaints. Finally, this team supports the campus resilience operations in response to emergency and crisis situations and provides critical postvention leadership. |
Essential Job Duties |
NC State University's Pack Essentials program connects students with critical resources to help them meet basic needs. As the Program Associate, you'll support operations, communications, and partnerships that power these efforts-from food assistance to emergency funds.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage student applications for Pack Essentials and related services
- Maintain and update program websites
- Coordinate logistics for the Feed the Pack Food Pantry and other support efforts
- Liaise with campus and community partners
- Support advisory groups and steering committees
- Help implement the Meal Share program
- Supervise student volunteers and pantry workers
- Process contracts, expenses, and financial awards in coordination with Financial Aid
- Ensure FERPA compliance in handling student information
- Reconcile budgets and manage purchasing card transactions
- Provide administrative support for the program director
- Cross-train with team members to ensure coverage across programs

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education |
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
Other Required Qualifications |
- Experience supervising and mentoring student employees or interns, with a focus on clear guidance and professional growth.
- Comfortable handling a variety of administrative tasks such as managing calendars, reserving spaces, supporting meeting tech, and preparing agendas and notes.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to stay organized and focused when juggling multiple priorities.
- Proven track record of building positive, collaborative relationships that support effective service and teamwork.
- Skilled in writing clear, error-free communications that convey purpose and key information.
- Able to adapt communication style to fit the audience, whether presenting, collaborating, or providing support.
- Experience analyzing data, such as program outcomes and spending, to guide decision-making.

Preferred Qualifications |
- Familiar with supporting students in a higher education environment.
- Experience keeping websites current and user-friendly, including updating content and ensuring accuracy.
- Confident using Google tools like Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Forms, and Docs to stay organized and collaborate effectively.
