  • Start Date: ASAP with positions available through the summer season
  • Seasonal: This position is available from Late May to the Beginning of October, aligning with our summer bike seasons. Seasonal work involves temporary employment tied to specific times of the year

Snowshoe Kid's Camp inspires children to explore the outdoors through fun, imaginative, and educational activities. Camp Counselors support daily camp operations, promote social and physical development, and help children build a lasting appreciation for nature. This role also assists with broader resort activities as needed, fostering a safe and engaging environment for all participants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

This position is responsible for the following job results.

  • Arrive promptly and prepared at 8:30 AM on assigned camp days (Friday-Sunday).
  • Participate in daily staff meetings to review the day's schedule and projects.
  • Prepare and gather necessary supplies (e.g., snacks, crafts, backpacks) for camp activities.
  • Lead, supervise, and actively engage with campers in activities such as hikes, bike lessons, and off-road tours.
  • Ensure camper safety by carrying a charged radio and following all safety procedures.
  • Escort, supervise, and interact with campers throughout all daily activities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with campers, peers, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
  • Implement behavior management strategies, including clear instructions, consistent redirection, and natural consequences.
  • Conduct regular head counts during check-in, transitions, and pick-up to ensure camper accountability.
  • Encourage hydration, breaks, and camper well-being throughout the day.
  • Promote cleanliness and responsibility by ensuring activity areas and supplies are cleaned up by both campers and staff.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians in a positive and professional manner during drop-off and pick-up.
  • Serve as a versatile team member, assisting with alternate plans (e.g., inclement weather) and supporting other departments as needed.
  • Adhere to company safety, liability, and guest service standards.
  • Accomplish related duties as assigned to support the success of Snowshoe Kid's Camp
