With a strong, solid background in purchasing and supply chain management in a heavy manufacturing environment, the candidate will take a proactive approach in enforcing and reviewing current systems and procedures, making recommendations and implementing changes. - Managing and controlling all the company's external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of Materials and finished parts for production
- Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production
- Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company's needs
- Responsible for planning and buying materials, parts, equipment rentals and project materials in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Identify new suppliers, agreement terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates
- Issue purchase orders and requisitions in accordance with Company policy obtaining proper authorization
- Verify receipt of goods and record
- Foster close working relationships with associated departments e.g. Accounts Payable, Engineering and Production
- Continually improve purchasing methods and drive down costs
- Carry out a comprehensive review of the Purchasing function and its methodology and identify and implement improvements
- Supervise the Tool Room employees
- Any reasonable task requested by the Company
- Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for production
- Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company's needs

EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Minimum 3 years previous experience in a Construction/Precast Purchasing role
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Proven track record of controlling and reducing spending while developing a robust supplier base
- Experience in construction or manufacturing
- Coordinating with suppliers and personnel, to achieve resolutions to supplier quality concerns, invoicing issues and past due accounts
- Management and coordination of purchasing activities
- Experience in quote solicitation, cost analysis and budgets
