Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the ongoing, effective operation of risk management activities. Such responsibilities include but are not limited to Assist Risk Managers as necessary to maintain TERM compliance, provide meaningful Midas and other trend reports and analyses, and total administrator function for Midas Safety Portal. Responsible for gathering and managing all General Liability MIDAS reports, information requests from legal entities and safety event trends for process improvement initiatives. Generates data necessary to determine corrective action effectiveness from root cause analyses. Develops fishbone diagrams and corrective action plans from safety event reviews, ensuring system solutions are in play to permanently mitigate gaps that allow harm to occur. Assists the Risk Director in promoting preventive reporting through Great Catch Awards to eliminate process gaps that allow harm to occur, before the safety harm event transpires. Serves as resource for reports and categorical information/analyses stemming from regulatory or other requests for information.

Produces agenda and reports for the Patient Safety Council and other forums, including root cause analysis summaries for lessons learned. Serves as the system subject matter expert for risk data.

Serves as the system expert for all camera activity and information retrieval and sequestering.

Provides assistance to the claims and litigation process, and contributes to the overall success of the risk management department.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Expert at all Microsoft Office applications.

2. Risk, Patient Safety or Compliance experience preferred.

3. IT Savvy

4. Experience with data bases and systems required. Ability to learn new systems and platofrms quickly.

5. Data expert. Able to create charts, graphics, meaningful, visual information for decisions.

6. Must be organized, must be a team player, with impeccable project management skills

7. A basic understanding of medical terminology is desired.

8. Strong communication skills. Abililty to communicate and interpret large data sets.

9. Multi-tasker.

10. Quick learner, self starter.

11. Must possess a valid driver's license and able to drive to other STHS facilities.

12. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION:

Bachelors Degree Required.
Patient Safety Organization experience a plus.
Causal Analysis knowledge a plus.
