Position Summary: UVA's Information Technology Services (ITS) is seeking a Central Admission Coordinator to support the Central Admission Office. The Central Admission Office builds and maintains the applications for numerous partner schools across UVA including graduate schools, internal transfer applications, and summer programs. Duties include the processing of application materials, fees, fee waivers and test scores; maintaining application layouts, queries, reports, and letters while ensuring accuracy; answering applicant, student, and customer questions; providing required institutional reporting and documentation for compliance; staying informed of updates and changes to Slate features and UVA policies and ensuring existing databases are up-to-date and compliant; and maintaining three application databases, working closely with the application vendor to ensure success. The coordinator will be expected to work collaboratively with their team, applicants, the SIS team, schools and departments, vendors, and fellow ITS employees. In this capacity, the coordinator will be responsible for responding to all inquiries from all constituencies in a timely manner. They will investigate and work with team members to trouble-shoot system related issues. They are also responsible for maintaining configuration and setup for the relevant technology as it pertains to Slate. This positions requires you to be on-site once a week in person. In addition this a 2 year limited term position based on funding. Salary range: 45-50k a year. Key Responsibilities: Collaboration and Communication
- Communicate, foster strong relationships, offer advice, share best practices, and be a valued partner with department and school administrators, SIS team members, fellow ITS staff, students, applicants, advisors, instructors, and vendors.
- Gather and document requirements from stakeholders and identify areas of improvement.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and effectively.
- Communicate clearly, share ITS and University visions, focus on people, initiate positive change, value differences and foster team collaboration.
- Facilitate meetings.
Slate
- Manage, assess, prioritize, analyze, and redesign existing business processes and technologies, innovating, and testing solutions, troubleshooting complex issues, and training on new technologies.
- Ensure that Slate is secure, efficient, and fully functioning for applicants and partner schools
- Quickly and accurately address all issues related to Slate
- Continuously research updates and new ideas to be able to present up-to-date solutions to our school partners
Policy and Compliance
- Stay informed about the latest trends and developments in student related technologies, policies, and compliance and incorporate relevant innovations into Slate
Vendor Interaction
- Effectively interact external vendors and service providers and partner schools, ensuring the delivery of high-quality Slate solutions and services.
- Ensure partner schools are in compliance with university guidelines and policies when selecting and working with vendors.
Design, Test, and Implement Solutions
- Translate business needs into system specifications and design solutions to meet those needs.
- Research and design solutions and integrate into the production instance of Slate.
