Overview

Seeking a new career challenge? Woolpert is hiring a Transportation Sales Director and will oversee the Program Directors (front line sales team members) and be responsible for driving sales opportunities, managing strategic clients, and leading priority pursuits for Woolpert's Transportation Market nationwide. This role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record in sales management, strategic planning, and client relationship building with the ability to work with a leadership team across multiple states.

We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position. Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located.



Responsibilities

Leadership and Management:

    Manage and mentor Program Directors to achieve sales targets and professional growth.

  • Responsible for the growth and development of the sales team. This includes identifying training needs, providing coaching, and facilitating professional development opportunities.

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue growth.

  • Foster a high-performance culture within the sales team.

  • Formulate and articulate a clear vision for the sales team, aligning it with the company's overall goals. This involves setting long-term objectives and creating a roadmap to achieve them.

  • Leading through change is crucial. The Director should be adept at guiding the team through market shifts, organizational changes, and new strategic directions.

Sales Opportunities:

  • Identify new market opportunities for expansion of service or geographic reach.

  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales strategies with business objectives and the VS3.

Client Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic clients.

  • Ensure client satisfaction and retention through effective account management.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, addressing their needs and concerns.

Priority Pursuits:

  • Lead and coordinate efforts for high-priority sales pursuits.

  • Oversee the development customized proposals and presentations for strategic opportunities.

  • Track and report on the progress of priority pursuits to company leadership.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 to 15 years of experience in management, with a focus on strategic clients and high-value opportunities.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.

  • Ability to travel as needed.
