Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Program Coordinator for the department of Psychiatry at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
Under direction, supports the development, implementation, administration and monitoring of research, training, and recruitment programs within the Center for Psychiatric Health and Genomics. Provides high-level coordination across research operations, student engagement, regulatory compliance, and administrative functions, supporting the Project Director, Principal Investigator, faculty, research teams, and other professional staff.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Prepares comprehensive reports, presentations and official correspondence. Responds to inquiries as directed and distributes informational materials according to University policy and practice.
- Coordinates all aspects of IRB submissions and modifications for CPHG research projects. Maintains regulatory documentation, tracks renewal deadlines, and assists in onboarding new staff and student interns to ensure completion of CITI training, HIPAA compliance, and study-specific protocol orientation.
- Supports undergraduate and medical student research engagement, including coordinating onboarding, shadowing schedules, and assigning tasks in alignment with IRB guidelines. Tracks student learning objectives and provides administrative support for credit-based research experiences such as the Honors Program and summer internships.
- Assists with manuscript development by formatting, managing journal submission logistics, and maintaining a centralized spreadsheet tracking journals, their submission requirements, and relevant deadlines.
- Ensures efficient staffing and contributes to the recruitment, retention, motivation and development of staff at all levels.

Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance ,Business Administration, Public health, Health Administration, or a related discipline, plus three (3) years of progressively more responsible professional experience in a business office, healthcare, university or government agency setting required.
- Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
