Job Description

Job Purpose

The Director of Strategic Operations & Transformation will serve as the right-hand leader to the VP of Integrated Operations & Transformation, driving enterprise-wide strategic initiatives, operational excellence, and business transformation. This role will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, streamlining operations, and executing large-scale transformation programs that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and align operations with the company's long-term strategy.

The position plays a critical role in ensuring the integration of supply chain, procurement, quality, and EHS functions while optimizing site performance. The Director will also lead organizational change management, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes and systems across global operations.

Strategic Leadership & Transformation Execution



  • Partner with the VP of Integrated Operations & Transformation to define and execute the company's transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Lead enterprise-wide operational transformation initiatives, ensuring successful implementation, risk mitigation, and measurable impact.
  • Develop and implement a strategic operations framework that enhances business efficiency, scalability, and financial performance.
  • Support M&A integration efforts, ensuring seamless alignment of operational processes, systems, and teams.


Operational Excellence & Process Optimization



  • Identify and implement standardized processes across sites to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance performance visibility.
  • Drive Supply Chain & Procurement standardization to optimize sourcing, supplier performance, and cost savings.
  • Oversee SIOP (Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning) execution, ensuring data-driven decision-making and alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead the development of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence) to enhance quality and efficiency.


Financial & Performance Management



  • Work with Finance and Operations leaders to ensure transformation initiatives contribute to financial goals, cost reductions, and revenue realization.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, tracking financial performance and ensuring accountability in expenditures.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for schedule adherence, cost control, and quality, providing performance insights to senior leadership.


Change Management & Organizational Development



  • Lead change management strategies, ensuring smooth adoption of new processes, tools, and technologies.
  • Develop and execute communication and training programs to drive employee engagement and transformation success.
  • Ensure alignment between workforce planning and strategic operational objectives, supporting talent acquisition, development, and retention efforts.


Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement



  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, ensuring operational execution and standardization across global sites.
  • Act as a key liaison between Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and Engineering to ensure alignment in business transformation efforts.
  • Establish structured processes for reporting, performance tracking, and executive-level updates on transformation initiatives.

Supervisors are responsible for overseeing their work group including but not limited to: formal evaluations/performance management as set out by the organization, recruitment and developing

Qualifications/Characteristics



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in operations management or related field.
  • MBA or Masters degree a plus
  • 10+ years of experience in operations, transformation, or strategy roles within aerospace, defense, or a related manufacturing industry.
  • Proven expertise in leading large-scale operational transformation initiatives in complex, global organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, and supply chain best practices.
  • Experience working with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to drive strategic change.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, optimize processes, and manage risk.
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, with the ability to interpret data and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.


Working Conditions

Office environment, duties performed indoors, moderate to quiet noise and comfortable temperatures. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental condition levels. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations require. Some may be able to do part of their work remotely. Travel may be required

Occasionally positions self to move an office item >10 lbs.

Frequently move about the production floor and office area to attend meetings or trainings

Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time

Frequently operates a computer, enters data into systems, verifies information, etc...
