Job Summary:



The Cardiologist will perform general outpatient cardiology duties and may be expected to participate in inpatient cardiology care and consultation as well as Community education and networking.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Outpatient cardiology clinic ~8 sessions per week in the NOC and outreach sites
  • 12 Saturday clinics per year (1 clinic session or 0.5 day clinic)
  • ~2 weeknights of cardiology call per month
  • Shared outpatient daytime call (City Team)





Work Location:



Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado and NOC/regional locations.

Our highly specialized pediatric heart surgeons and interventional cardiologists take on the most complex congenital heart defects (CHDs) and childhood heart conditions and achieve some of the best results in the nation. The Society of Thoracic Surgery requires a hospital to perform at least 250 heart surgeries per year to be considered a high-volume center. By far exceeding this, we gain more experience, which leads to better outcomes. The Heart Institute has 80 plus faculty members and continues to grow annually.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Assistant Professor:



  • Doctorate degree (MD or DO)
  • Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.
  • Ability to obtain CO medical license
  • DEA certificate
  • 0-6 years of clinical experience, interest in pursuing academic promotion


Associate Professor:



  • Doctorate degree (MD or DO)
  • Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.
  • Ability to obtain CO medical license
  • DEA certificate
  • 6 or more years of clinical experience
  • Prior experience with program development, teaching or research
  • Examples of scholarship


Professor:



  • Doctorate degree (MD or DO)
  • Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology.
  • Ability to obtain CO medical license
  • DEA certificate
  • 10 or more years of clinical experience
  • Proven experience with program development, teaching or research
  • Distinguished scholarship


Condition of Employment:



  • Must successfully pass a drug test through Children's Hospital Colorado
  • Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Board certification in Pediatric Cardiology

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Assistant Professor: $240,000-$254,886

Associate Professor: $293,814-314,752

Professor: $364,300-$391,436

The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
