Sentry is looking an experienced information security professional to join the Technical Risk Engineering team as a technical risk engineer. As a Technical Risk Engineer, you'll emulate information security threats, assess weaknesses and analyze and report on threats or overall risk to the organization.
This role can be filled as a technical risk engineer or a senior technical risk engineer based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
What You'll Do As a Technical Risk Engineer, you will:
- Conduct complex, periodic assessments of Sentry's applications, infrastructure, or other assets to validate security controls.
- Conduct emulated real-world attacks such as social engineering or vulnerability/weakness exploitation.
- Research new vulnerabilities (CVEs) and current threat and attack trends to better prioritize assessment, prioritization and remediation efforts.
- Leverage knowledge of the technologies deployed across the organization to continuously evaluate the risk presented by vulnerabilities and threat actors to prioritize findings.
- Provide basic guidance and recommendations to relevant teams on best practices to mitigate or remediate any identified security risks to the organization.
- Partner with the Security Operations Center (SOC) as a resource on various attack types, documentation review and alert escalation.
- With assistance from senior team members, design detailed reports related to the program's success in mitigation and prevention for senior leadership.
Additionally, you will:
- Build and maintain assets and infrastructure necessary to assess and prioritize risk.
- Participate in on-call rotation to provide off-hours support as needed.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time.
What it Takes
- Associate's degree in information security, networking, systems administration, computer science or equivalent work experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of related work experience
- OSCP, OSWA, Pen+ or equivalent certification preferred
