Maintenance Technician Darien, WI
Wage Range: $24.00 - $30.00/hour + overtime Position Summary: Under the direction of the Maintenance Group Lead, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing work involved in keeping machines, tools, mechanical equipment, or the building structure in repair. Duties may involve welding, machining, electrical installation and repair, tool repair, machinery repair, installing new equipment, and repairing buildings. Essential Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, repair or replace production machines and other facility equipment using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment safely per company, state, federal and OSHA guidelines.
- Diagnose and suggest emergency/unscheduled repairs, perform scheduled maintenance of production equipment by reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to execute required maintenance and service.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Lead and department supervisors to schedule maintenance tasks safely and efficiently to reduce production down-time.
- Complete the maintenance of buildings and grounds to ensure that infrastructure systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate.
- As needed, lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds of materials to assist in production. Learn and execute team lifts for items over 40 pounds. Adhere to all safety procedures including the use of personal protective equipment, navigating the plant with alert behavior, operating power tools and machines according to instructions, and disposing of waste properly.
- As needed and assigned, promptly respond to off-hour (nights of weekend) urgent requests. Ensure complete follow-up communication with all involved parties occurs
- Other duties as directed by management.
SHIFT: Monday- Friday and every other Saturday from 5:00AM-3:30PM Requirements:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience including the ability to apply math (fractions, ratios, measurements) and to read, comprehend, and convert instruction manuals/diagrams into work
- Demonstrated experience safely repairing and maintaining mechanical production equipment & building infrastructure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Understanding of, or the ability to learn, electrical maintenance and installation, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC repair or machine maintenance
- Ability to obtain Crane, Fork Truck, Arc Flash, Aerial Lift, and all other required job-related certifications by completing PSI on-site or other designated training programs
- Valid Drivers license with a clean and safe driving record; willing to travel between local PSI locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- Electrical repair, conduit bending and installation experience of DC & AC circuits up to 480V-3 phase
- Prior welding knowledge (MIG, TIG)
- Experience in the repair of stamping, bending, welding and plasma cutting equipment a plus
- Knowledge of state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations desirable
- Comfortable with technology including MS Excel and Outlook and the ability to quickly learn Epicor ERP system
- Bilingual Spanish/English
