Overview

To perform financial and management reporting for Navy Federal business unit products and services, and to contribute to the formulation of department business strategy through business case proposals, tracking and evaluations. To support the optimization of business operations (money, materials and people) by analyzing current product and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis using analytical techniques, tools, models, simulation, etc.
  • Gather, analyze and synthesize quantitative and qualitative data of business processes to determine and promote data driven business decisions
  • Interpret results of analysis; present recommendations, alternatives and implications
  • Prepare and reviews internal and external reports, schedules and statements
  • Prepare business case valuation metrics and tracking reports with proposals on action items for leadership.
  • Establish procedures to ensure accurate and complete profitability reporting
  • Review profitability reporting for reasonableness of reports, correlations of drivers with results and updates required for Lending owned models.
  • Assist with preparation of Business Case review materials and Profitability analysis for senior department management
  • Build relationships with the product teams and support areas to drive collaboration, enable fluid and consistent communications, and ensure operational results correctly translate into financial results.
  • Ability to look at current results, drivers, and assess fit with the longer term outlook.
  • Conduct cost studies by analyzing internal data and reviewing for reasonableness and accuracy; recommends proposals for implementation
  • Conduct variances analyses, generate reports, coordinating with the forecasting team to incorporate updates on business cases, and responding to information and analysis requests from management
  • Responsible for supporting the production, analysis and dissemination of monthly financial management information for Navy Federal
  • Identify opportunities for enhanced efficiencies and potential gaps and/or problems related to generating revenue and suggests corrective alternatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Experience in understanding and applying financial and accounting principles, practices and methodologies
  • Skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
  • Experience in working and participating in cross-functional, multi-dimensional teams and projects
  • Demonstrated research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and precisely on technical and business topics
  • Effective skill interpreting and synthesizing large amounts of information
  • Effective analytical thinking skills to include summarizing information and clearly identifying key elements, patterns, results or relationships
  • Experience in working effectively with diverse internal and external contacts
  • Working knowledge of data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis and operations research, including statistical methods and modeling
  • Knowledge of financial institutions operations, preferably credit unions
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Finance, Data Analytics or the equivalent combination of training, education, and experience
  • Masters of Business Administration (MBA) highly desired

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM
