The Manager, Pet Services Projects & Operations - Grooming & Dog Training plays a key role in executing high-impact initiatives that support the performance, consistency, and scalability of Petco's Grooming and Dog Training services. This role is responsible for managing cross-functional projects, coordinating field implementation efforts, maintaining and improving operational resources, and supporting vendor and supply chain activities. By partnering closely with Field Operations, Training & Education, Product, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams, the manager ensures service tools, policies, and assets are effectively deployed and adopted across the field. The role also supports pilot programs, field feedback loops, and issue resolution to maintain operational readiness and a consistent partner and customer experience.

This position will report to the Sr. Manager, Pet Services Strategy & Operations

Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned cross-functional projects from planning through execution, including workplans, timelines and stakeholder alignment
  • Support pilot programs, product testing, and initiative rollouts in collaboration with Field Ops and Training & Education teams.
  • Track project milestones and report on performance metrics to ensure on-time, in-scope delivery.
  • Maintain and update service toolkits, SOPs and field-facing resources in support of new and existing programs.
  • Coordinate with Field Operations and Store teams to ensure readiness for tool deployment, equipment use and policy adoption.
  • Respond to field inquiries and issues related to grooming and dog training operations; escalate as needed.
  • Facilitate product trials, supply ordering processes, and vendor communications related to grooming and dog training
  • Monitor supply levels and coordinate with supply chain and maintenance to ensure grooming salons have the necessary assets.
  • Track salon maintenance issues and coordinate timely resolution to minimize operational downtime and partner disruption.
  • Serve as connector between Field Ops, Store Ops, Training & Education, Maintenance and Product teams to ensure successful execution of initiatives.
  • Support the Sr. Manager in aligning execution timelines with business priorities and field capacity.

Required Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in pet services, project management or operations support, ideally in grooming, dog training or multi-unit retail
  • Strong understanding of grooming operations, service safety standards and field execution dynamics
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects, timelines, and vendor relationships
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to influence without authority.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, follow-through, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.

The pay ranges outlined below are presented in accordance with state-specific regulations. These ranges may differ in other areas and could be subject to variation based on regulatory minimum wage requirements. Actual pay rates will depend on factors such as position, location, level of experience, and applicable state or local minimum wage laws. If the regulatory minimum wage exceeds the minimum indicated in the pay range below, the regulatory minimum wage will be the minimum rate applied.
