We are seeking a White House reporter who will break news and help our audience anticipate and understand actions by the president and other top White House officials. The beat serves the entire newsroom's audiences, requiring an understanding of what lobbyists, tax professionals, lawyers and other parts of the government need to know about what's going on in the White House, including key regulatory and budget actions.
The reporter will help drive news from the intersection of the executive branch and Congress on a policy-centric beat. The successful candidate will spearhead our newsroom's coverage of the White House, playing a crucial role in delivering stories while also working with reporters across our newsroom.The successful candidate will have keen news judgment, understand what scoops to seek and be able to write a nut graf about what it all means. They will have existing sources inside the White House, on the Hill,and outside of those worlds who understand what news matters to Bloomberg Government, Bloomberg Law and Bloomberg Tas audiences. The job requires excellent communication skills, the ability to move fast and to write in a clear and engaging way.
