About the role:

You will be responsible for key process and performance measures of the production area. You will collaborate with the production workforce, management, and maintenance team to meet the area objective and to facilitate continuous process improvements.

More specifically, you will:

  • Investigate, diagnose, and correct sick pots (hot, cold, noisy, high anode effect pots, high iron pots, and others).

  • Improve stability and help the hourly workforce to troubleshoot and tackle technical issues accurately.

  • Measuring and metering new posts and ensuring all measurements are accurately conducted to guarantee a safe and accurate start/restart.

  • Enter events and report issues with the QLC mobile and APG.

  • Verify that bath and metal corrections are done every shift, which will guarantee accurate liquid level control.

  • Assist supervisors with shift planning and work schedule.

  • Investigate all pots from the lists and take corrective action when needed.

  • Enter information from diagnostic and corrections in QLC or additional systems.

  • Follow schedule and make the vital checks on new pots.

  • Ensure that all shifts complete all measurement and sampling.

  • Increase compliance of process control for new/restart pots.

What you can bring to the role:

To be successful in this role and to play a part in our ongoing success we desire the following background:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Good digital literacy including use of Microsoft office

  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Effective interpersonal skills and attention to details

  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating shift

It would be beneficial if you also had one or more of the following:

  • Associate's degree and/or Technical Trade/Certification such as mechanics, electricity, engineering tech, maintenance, production, HVAC, etc.

  • Use and knowledge of QLC mobile and APG

  • Smelting process knowledge and experience

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles preferred

Base salary: $63,500 - $87,000 USD annually Total rewards packages listed, including base salary and bonus eligibility, applies to US based applicants only. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on a range of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, and competencies in conjunction with multiple components of the Employee Total Rewards Package. Alcoa reserves the right to change plans at its discretion.
