Overview

In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for directing the efforts of a full-disciplined engineering and construction management team whose services range from Roadway & Bridge projects to Railway and Water facility projects. This position requires the individual to be a strong leader for the team he/she manages in the Fresno Area as well as be able to work collaboratively with several office locations. This individual will have a keen eye on quality, ensuring that the services and deliverables produced from their team meets our internal expectations for quality. This is a client-facing position and the ability to work and communicate well with clients is paramount.


Responsibilities

  • Develops key client relationships and is the primary company contact on assigned projects. Communicates effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions and strategies.
  • Must be able to lead and oversee large engineering and construction management teams.
  • Responsible for ensuring that his/her team works within the budgets allotted by the Project Managers
  • Must ensure that all services and deliverables are produced with the highest quality, and at least meet TRC's minimum expectations for quality.
  • Forecasts technical personnel needs based on current backlogs, anticipated and proposed work, and projected staffing requirements.
  • Develops policies and procedures to adequately staff projects and proposals using limited technical resources.
  • Approves job offers, salaries and position classifications for new employees. Identifies staff reduction needs and approves termination of staff if/when required.
  • Reviews and approves promotions and salary increases for engineering and construction management staff, as appropriate. Submits recommendations to the Office Practice Leader for approval.
  • Assists in identifying, evaluating, and recommending new techniques, hardware, software and systems that will increase efficiency and improve the quality of technical staff services.
  • Reviews and approves expense reports, material requisitions, and requests for equipment, materials and software associated with engineering and construction management personnel to work on projects and proposals.
  • Implements a system of design guides, engineering practices, standard specifications, and standard drawings for use on projects.
  • Oversees performance review of engineering and construction management personnel.
  • Manages employee development and succession planning for his/her department.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience working within an Engineering organization
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a manager (not including Project Manager) within an Engineering organization, including time spent as an engineering discipline manager.
  • Have a history of working Engineering projects.
  • Have worked as a Senior Construction Manager or Senior Project Manager before.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical) from an EAC/ABET approved college or university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification or Project Management Professional (PMP), preferred

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

Salary Range

USD $205,005.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.
