Key Responsibilities:



  • This position is part of the Pre-Award Shared Services (PASS) team.
  • Members of this team work primarily with Principal Investigators, various department administrators, the Office of Grants and Contracts, and other members of the PASS team.
  • The major function of this position is to assist faculty in the submission and pre-award administration of grants and contracts.
  • In addition to pre-award grant applications and contracts, grant consultants will assist with pre-award additional information requests and post-award grant reports.
  • This position will be responsible for the management, development, implementation, and oversight of pre-award grant functions, including ensuring all applications and agreements follow sponsor guidelines, University guidelines, and timelines, and adhere to all grant application regulations and requirements.
  • Assist with process improvement strategies and the training of grant writing and submissions.


  • Primary responsibilities vary by appointment level:


Entry Level:



  • Entry-level appointments will primarily provide PI and department support for research performance progress reports and other administrative components of the pre-award process.
  • Entry-level appointments may assist with components of full research applications under the direction of and with review by intermediate, senior, or manager-level staff.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and external regulations related to research funding and grant submissions.


Intermediate Level:



  • Intermediate-level appointments will provide PI and department support for full research applications and contract submissions, research performance progress reports, and other administrative components of the pre-award process.
  • As needed, work is completed with review by senior staff.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and external regulations related to research funding and grant submissions.



All levels may have the opportunity to work on additional projects as they arise.



Work Location:



Remote - this role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States. Candidates have the option to work from the Anschutz Medical Campus.

Qualifications:



Minimum Qualifications:

For Entry Level Appointments:



  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.


For Intermediate Level Appointments:



  • A bachelor's degree field from an accredited institution.
  • At least one (1) year of professional grant or contract experience.


Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience with Info Ed Proposal Development System or similar grant submission software.
  • Experience working in an academic environment or medical center.
  • Proficiency with PeopleSoft (HR6MS &/or Finance).
  • Previous grant and/or contract experience.
  • Previous research administration experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and sponsored project budgeting principles.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality with sensitive information.

Anticipated Pay Range:



The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as:



  • Entry Level: $48,070 to $61,145
  • Intermediate Level: $52,312 to $66,541


The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
