JOB TITLE: Databricks SME/ Senior Data Engineer

GOVERNMENT AGENCY: USCG FINCEN

POSITION INFORMATION: Full-time

LOCATION: Chesapeake, VA; onsite

POSITION TIMING: Position requires candidate to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance which can take 4-6 weeks to process and must be complete prior to starting employement

ITC Federal is seeking a seasoned Databricks Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support the development of robust, scalable, and high-performance data platforms for the USCG FINCEN program. This role requires deep technical expertise in Databricks and related technologies, along with strong communication and collaboration skills to work closely with our federal client.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of data migration and transformation initiatives usingDatabricks, focusing on performance, reliability, and scalability

Analyze and modernize existingETL jobs, data marts, workflows, BI tools, and reports
Provide technical guidance on thecustomization, integration, and architecture of enterprise data solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business value

Qualifications

2-4 yearsof hands-on experience in Data Engineering, building and deploying production-grade solutions
Ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust clearance
Expertise with:
- Databricksand the Lakehouse architecture
- Apache Spark,Delta Lake, and SQL (preferably T-SQL; also pgSQL, MySQL)
- PySpark/ Python
- Cloud services (experience with AWS, Azure or GCP is a plus)
- Workflow tools such as Databricks Workflows, Apache Airflow, or AWS Step Functions
Strong knowledge ofrelational databases and SQL query optimization
Experience handling large, complex datasets (structured and unstructured)
Proven ability to assess existing pipelines andre-engineer them efficiently in Databricks
Experience architectingdata warehouses and transactional data systems

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting federal financial or government programs.
Familiarity with USCG FINCEN mission and environment.
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Microsoft Power Platform or SharePoint certifications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Candidate must be able to function in general office environment.
