Accounting Manager

Company Overview:
Our client is a nationally recognized real estate investment and development firm with a strong presence across the U.S. The company is a vertically integrated platform development, construction, and asset management.

Position Summary:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial operations and reporting for a portfolio of development projects. This individual will manage month-end close processes, joint venture reporting, budgeting, and compliance-related activities. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, experience in real estate or construction, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee month-end close and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial packages, including joint venture statements
  • Review general ledger activity, reconcile accounts, and ensure proper documentation
  • Partner with internal teams to support budget planning, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Assist with joint venture formations, equity funding, loan draws, and audits
  • Coordinate asset transactions, including development project sales and dispositions
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate policies
  • Manage cash activity and prepare wire transfers
  • Liaise with AP, development teams, tax consultants, and external auditors
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and documentation of SOPs

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience; real estate or construction industry preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and joint venture accounting
  • Proficient in Excel and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
