We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator with experience and foundational knowledge in Network Infrastructure to support our critical North America IT infrastructure, enabling our global operations.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of networking concepts and be capable of effectively collaborating with network engineers.

This role combines hands-on technical expertise across multiple platforms with planning to ensure our infrastructure meets the needs of a global cybersecurity leader. You will be instrumental in maintaining secure, resilient systems and network infrastructure that supports Check Point's mission of providing industry-leading security solutions.

This role is a hybrid position with travel requirements to US and Canada locations. You will have the flexibility to work remotely while also being available for on-site support as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Linux Systems: Install, manage, and optimize Linux-based systems with a focus on security hardening, performance, and compliance with security benchmarks.

Storage Systems: Install, manage, and optimize NetApp based storage systems.

Virtualization Infrastructure: Design, implement, and maintain virtualized infrastructure using VMware vSphere technologies to support business applications across global environments. Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities for mission-critical systems.

Automation Development: Develop and maintain automation process using Ansible with proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, Python and others compatible with Ansible to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Network Administration: Assist the network team in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco networking equipment (Nexus, Catalyst platforms), Juniper Wi-Fi infrastructure, and Cisco ISE implementations, ensuring optimal performance and security. Perform regular patching and upgrades of network devices to maintain security and performance. Develop, coordinate and implement maintenance windows that minimize business impact.

Data Center Operations: Execute data center builds, including rack and stack, hardware setup, cabling, and switching to support growing infrastructure needs. Conduct physical infrastructure audits and capacity planning. Capable of lifting and carrying devices weighing between 15-30 lbs.

Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure systems and processes to ensure knowledge transfer and operational continuity. Generate regular reports on system performance, security incidents, and project progress.

Operational Support: Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous operations and rapid response to incidents.

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with stake holders in the security teams, application teams, and IT operations to ensure infrastructure supports business requirements while maintaining security standards.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in any field is acceptable, but a degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is highly desirable.

Certifications: Relevant certifications in Cisco, Linux, VMware (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, VCP, RHCE) are highly desirable.

Experience:



  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience with enterprise IT infrastructure and networking technologies.
  • Extensive experience in Linux/Unix system administration.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
  • Experience configuring and managing Cisco networking equipment, Wi-Fi technologies enterprise wireless security and Cisco ISE is desirable.


Technical Expertise and Skills



  • Strong Linux administration skills (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) with security hardening experience.
  • Proven experience with VMware virtualization technologies (vSphere 7.0+, ESXi, vCenter).
  • Experience in automation process using Ansible with proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, Python and others compatible with Ansible.
  • Knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and network segmentation implementation.
  • Ability to perform physical data center work, including rack mounting equipment and cabling.
  • Knowledge of network monitoring tools and performance analysis.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to pinpoint issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills. High level of responsibility and accountability.
  • Fast learner with the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Experience with Windows, NetApp, and Nutanix administration is desirable.
