About the Job

Responsibilities

  • Outdoor Summer responsibilities: Field work including mowing, seeding, and weed removal of grass fields, grooming and maintenance of artificial turf fields, grooming of the softball fields, and assisting with the inflation (mid-October) and deflation (mid-April) of the Sports Field Complex (Dome).
  • Outdoor Winter responsibilities: Grooming and maintenance of artificial turf fields, snow removal, and spreading ice melt.
  • Custodial responsibilities: Cleaning and organizing of maintenance shops and sheds, and removal of trash from outdoor facilities.
  • Additional responsibilities: Operate motorized equipment such as lawn mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, and utility carts, repair sport equipment such as soccer and lacrosse nets
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • CPR/First-Aid/AED Certification and Bloodborne Pathogen Training (free training provided by the department, upon hiring).
  • Ability to the Sports Field Complex on the East Bank campus or the St Paul Gym on the St Paul campus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous landcare experience working with mowers and field maintenance equipment
  • Ability to work both on their own and with others
  • Custodial or cleaning experience
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, year round

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $16.00 per hour, depending on education/qualifications/experience.
