The Sr. Sourcing Manager serves as the primary client liaison and strategic lead for assigned programs, supporting a key client in the banking and financial services industry. This role manages all phases from initial request through contract completion and program turnover, leveraging a deep understanding of client objectives to recommend destination and supplier options, negotiate key program components, and develop accurate preliminary budgets.

The Sr. Sourcing Manager proactively negotiates pricing and contracts, communicates program details with the Procurement Team and suppliers in a timely manner, and ensures compliance with standard operating procedures for all sourcing activities.

In addition, this role provides informal leadership and mentorship to Sourcing Managers and Coordinators, supporting operational excellence and client satisfaction.

Financial & Reporting (30%)

  • Advise Meeting Management Team and clients on deposit requirements and secure payments.

  • Manage accurate financial forecasting, budget updates, cost savings tracking, and system reporting for all program statuses.

  • Maintain thorough records and collaborate with leadership on overall program financials.

  • Monitor foreign exchange rates and assist in budget reviews for other Sourcing Managers.

Process Management (25%)

  • Review meeting requests and lead client qualification calls.

  • Develop sourcing and negotiation strategies to achieve optimal pricing and value.

  • Gather all sourcing details, initiate RFPs, and secure room blocks, logistics, and supplier pricing.

  • Review supplier contracts to ensure accuracy and risk mitigation for Maritz and the client.

Leadership & Relationship Management (25%)

  • Serve as day-to-day client contact and lead status meetings with clients and stakeholders.

  • Provide leadership, negotiation expertise, and mentorship to team members.

  • Promote use of preferred hotels and support best practices across the sourcing team.

Additional Responsibilities (20%)

  • Support special projects, site inspections, and program operations as needed, including global travel.

  • Provide leadership during emergencies to ensure the safety of clients, participants, and employees.

  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices.

Qualifications

  • College degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years in project, event, or meeting management, with at least 4 years in procurement in the meetings/events space.

  • Strong negotiation skills with extensive domestic and preferred international destination knowledge.

  • Experience with travel suppliers, program management systems (especially online sourcing tools), and hospitality operations.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain client and supplier relationships.

  • Strong budget management, analytical skills, and comfort with technology.

  • Leadership or mentoring experience preferred.

  • CMP designation a plus.

  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.
