The Director of Operations is responsible for managing multiple practice operations throughout our region. This role encompasses a broad range of operational disciplines including support staff management; front-office operations; clinical operations; supply services; patient relations; oversight of practice budgets; P&L; solid analytical skills; and regulatory compliance. The Director of Operations will demonstrate a track record of accomplishment in healthcare operations and personnel supervision within a group practice environment and will be responsible for operational and financial performance for assigned practices. This position reports to the Senior Director of Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Overseeing all operational functions of assigned groups
  • Creates an environment which is consistent with the company's values and objectives
  • Establishing and achieving financial, customer service goals for the assigned divisions
  • Staying current on volume, revenue cycle and coding reporting and advising engagement when necessary
  • Responsible for supporting the clinical services strategic mission
  • Supporting and rolling out organizational goals and initiatives
  • Provides leadership and serve as a mentor and a coach to Practice Managers and staff
  • Assess, monitors, and develops office manager's skill levels to ensure they meet quality standards
  • Assists the VP of Operations in providing training to achieve positive patient outcomes, employee satisfaction, customer service and clinical excellence
  • Ability to develop and execute business plans and achieve strategic marketing and operating goals
  • Developing department workflows to increase volume
  • Schedule optimization/increasing access when possible
  • Drive clinical integration amongst Urgent Cares, ASCs, Radiology, Lab and Practices
  • P&L Management for assigned groups
  • Staffing and requisition management - assess staffing models, reviewing overtime usage, coverage troubleshooting
  • Practice growth strategy development
  • Developing patient panels for providers - referrals, provider to provider relationships, department meetings etc.
  • Assessing opportunities to plug in new providers and managing credentialing and onboarding process
  • Performs other duties or special projects as assigned
  • Reviewing Epic reporting and workflows

Required Qualifications:



  • 5+ years supervisory/management experience
  • Experience with healthcare operations leadership
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Teams and other web-based applications. Epic experience a plus. May produce complex documents, perform analysis, and maintain databases
  • Driver's License and access to a reliable transportation


The salary range for this role is $106,800 to $194,200 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
