Our Poughkeepsie, NY Regional Office is looking for Civil-Structural Bridge Design Engineers

As a Structural Bridge Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team, you'll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. Ideal Candidates will have:

• 
  

  At minimum a BS in Civil Engineering from anABET accredited College or University

  
  
• 
  

  Ideal candidates will have a valid EI certification, or in the process of obtaining.

  
  

General Responsibilities of a Structural Bridge Design Engineer:

• 
  

  Review and check standard structural design calculations.

  
  
• 
  

  Assist with structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using analysis software.

  
  
• 
  

  Assist with the development of preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.

  
  
• 
  

  Provide information for design reports.

  
  
• 
  

  Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspections and construction service assignments.

  
  
• 
  

  Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.

  
  
• 
  

  Assist with the preparation of project-related documents and internal correspondence.

  
  
• 
  

  Assist and perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.

  
  
• 
  

  Review and check drawings under the careful supervision of a Senior Enigneer

  
  
• 
  

  Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, RISA-3D, LEAP Bridge, AutoCAD, MicroStation,etc.

  
  
• 
  

  Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc.
