*Description*
Client has a need for a person to build out and manage our PC/Print/Mobile/RF hardware lab in building 275 on campus. The goal is setting this up for Solventum so they can get moved off 3M's lab space. The primary purpose would be to have a networked KVM switch with various products that represent their hardware catalog hooked up for remote use by global SME's and application owners for testing on our standard builds/configurations. The individual would get the lab setup, manage the day to day (imaging devices, ensuring their availability, etc), as well as testing hardware for use and various other tasks lined out below. Roles and Responsibilities: *Build out the lab, work with facilities to setup tables and racks, obtain power and network drops, setup KVM, test hardware and cable it all up for use. *Keep a tidy workspace (Benches, Cabling, Server rack, KVM, networks, Desktops, laptops, docks, monitors, etc.) *Configure, secure and manage access to the KVM's via it's portal *Maintain an inventory of, and physical security for, all Lab Assets (printers, RF guns, iOS devices, PC's and Mac's, etc) *Perform BIOS configuration for PC equipment related to Legacy BIOS and UEFI *Collaborate with Hardware team and other SME's to setup lab scenarios as required to meet customer needs *Automate repetitive lab tasks *Define, implement and execute hardware benchmarking best practices for model transition testing. This should include simulating synthetic user transactions. *Maintain detailed status reports for all testing activities *Collaborate with HW lead to define new products for deployment based on customer needs *Test core configurations against various hardware components (drivers, monitors, docks, etc) to ensure a predictable end user experience. *Report Imaging and Application Software Packaging Errors and Issues to the appropriate team(s) *Create documentation for lab processes and workflows *Host and participate in conference calls as needed *Skills* Hardware, Help desk, Troubleshooting, Technical support, Windows 10, Customer service, Active directory, Configuration *Top Skills Details* Hardware,Help desk,Troubleshooting,Technical support,Windows 10,Customer service,Active directory,Configuration *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Skills and Experience: *Workstation PC Imaging Experience with MECM (Intune), Autopilot, and Modern Desktop Technologies to assist CapGemini team in implementing and testing images *Advanced knowledge of Windows Desktop Operating Systems (10 and 11) and System BIOS *Working knowledge of macOS and Mac hardware *Excellent communication skills with diverse on-shore and off-shore resources oAbility to interact with internal and external customers, manager, and peers. *Research and Development skills to troubleshoot PC software and hardware issues. *Advanced Technical and Analytical skills related to Desktops and VDI *Virtual Desktop Experience - Setup and Configuration oHyper-V and VMWare *Network Knowledge oPhysical Connections oVirtual LAN oFirewall and Ports Settings oNetwork Adapter configurations *Intermediate experience with Office and other Microsoft Products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, OneNote, etc. *Physically able to move up to 50 pounds. *Self-motivated individual *Experience Level* Entry Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
