GENERAL SUMMARY: * Coordinates care for patients who receive acute mechanical circulatory support (aMCS) such as, ECMO and Impella, as an advanced treatment for cardiopulmonary failure. Facilitates timely access to temporary support devices, from patient identification, transfer, and evaluation, through implantation of device and coordination of intrahospital services such as OR, Cath Lab, and Radiology. * Participates in related data collection, research and quality projects. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: * Bachelor's degree in nursing. * Three (3) years acute care nursing experience in a closely related field (cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, and/or advanced heart failure). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including innovative solutions for addressing clinical care, quality, and safety issues. * Strong organizational skills. Ability to work in a self-directed, autonomous manner. Experience with aMCS devices (i.e., ECMO, Impella) preferred. Intensive Care Nursing Experience preferred. Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite including Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: * Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan or obtain one under the interstate compact if switching residency to Michigan. * BLS and ACLS certification.
