Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Accountant to join our Financial Consolidation team. This individual will be responsible for owning the general ledger for assigned accounts and supporting finance and operations partners in achieving accurate financial reporting, improved processes, and successful implementation of new business initiatives.

This is a hybrid role (2-3 days in office) based in Chicago (O'Hare) and offers the opportunity to work in a high-impact, cross-functional environment.

Key Job Responsibilities

* Contribute to the monthly consolidation process through consolidated journal entries and supporting financial schedules with a focus on both internal management reporting and external financial reporting.
* Perform timely, accurate balance sheet account reconciliations; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
* Manage key accounts including intercompany transactions, investments, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and intangible assets.
* Support the internal and external audit processes.
* Assist with SAP master data management and financial system updates.
* Identify and drive accounting and operational process improvements.
* Cross collaborate on ad-hoc analysis and special projects with various groups throughout the organization (Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, Marketing, IT, Operations).

Qualifications/Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
* 1-3 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis
* Experience in public accounting and/or CPA licensure is a plus
* Solid knowledge of US GAAP and best accounting practices
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
* Effective communicator with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally
* Experience with SAP, BPC, OneStream is a plus
* Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and proactive in problem-solving

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $70,000The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
