Maine state licensure to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) is required

Summary

The Social Worker - Oncology role is responsible for providing in-person/onsite counseling and emotional support services to cancer patients, families, friends and caregivers through clinical practice that offers comprehensive psychosocial services and programs through all phases of the cancer experience. In this role the Social Worker works in collaboration with APPs, Physicians, RNs, MAs and CNAs and office support staff. The Social Worker also works with a wider range of patients while receiving infusion therapy. This role is responsible for developing and leading patient support groups outside of the clinic.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  1. Education: Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program required.
  2. License/Certifications: Licensure as an LCSW or LMSW required. Membership in the Association of Oncology Social Workers required.
  3. Experience: Experience in oncology social work required.
  4. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: N/A
