Position Summary

The Director of Corporate Tax is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the company's global tax function, including tax provision, compliance, planning, and strategy. This role ensures accurate financial reporting for income taxes, drives tax efficiency, and manages risk through proactive planning and compliance. The Director will lead a team of tax professionals and collaborate cross-functionally to support business initiatives, mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory changes. Duties & Responsibilities

Tax Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the development and implementation of global tax strategies to optimize the company's effective tax rate and cash tax position.
  • Oversee tax planning initiatives including M&A, transfer pricing, legal entity rationalization, and accounting method changes.
  • Collaborate with external advisors to assess and implement complex tax strategies.

Tax Provision & Reporting

  • Direct the preparation and review of quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Ensure accurate financial statement disclosures for income taxes in 10-Q and 10-K filings.
  • Monitor and explain changes in effective tax rate, deferred tax assets/liabilities, and tax reserves (FIN 48).

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance, including income, franchise, property, and municipal filings.
  • Ensure timely and accurate estimated tax payments and intercompany settlements.
  • Manage responses to external audits and regulatory inquiries.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering development and high performance.
  • Partner with Finance, Legal, HR, Treasury, and FP&A to align tax strategies with business goals.
  • Coordinate with third-party tax service providers to ensure technical accuracy and data integrity.

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Drive automation and process improvements across the tax function.
  • Leverage tax technology tools (e.g., OneSource, Smartsheet) to enhance reporting and compliance efficiency.

Legislative Monitoring & Communication

  • Stay abreast of tax legislation and regulatory developments.
  • Communicate potential impacts to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Education & Experience

Knowledge of:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • ASC 740, federal and state tax laws, and tax planning strategies.
  • Tax preparation software
  • Advanced research, tax technical and data analytic skills

Ability to:

  • Lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Effectively leverage the tax research software.
  • Present complex tax matters to non-tax professionals.

Education & Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or Finance required.
  • CPA required.
  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience, including leadership roles.

Benefits and Compensation

Salary offered is based on factors, including but not limited to, the job duties, required qualifications and relevant experience, and local market trends. The role may be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.

(Base Pay Range: $150,000 - $185,000/year)
