BNY Mellon Capital Markets, LLC seeks a Senior Vice President, Trading for its New York, NY location. DUTIES: Apply mathematical or statistical techniques to address practical issues in finance, such as derivative valuation, securities trading, risk management, or financial market regulation. Manage the work direction of daily client activity, improving client experience based on any feedback provided. Research and develop analytical tools to address issues including portfolio construction or optimization, performance measurement, attribution, profit and loss measurement, or pricing engines. Develop core analytical capabilities using advanced statistical, quantitative, or econometric techniques. Define or recommend pricing specifications or data collection methods. Maintain or modify financial analytic internal pricing engines in use. Ensure transaction pricing are aligned with both bank and client requirements. Liaise with compliance and legal bodies to ensure risk and capital management policies are followed. Work with large or highly complex client accounts or products. Own pricing processes for securities traded. Provide expertise regarding security vehicles and trading strategies to maximize portfolio performance. Devise or apply independent tools to help verify results of analytical systems. Confer with other financial engineers or analysts on trading strategies, market dynamics, or trading system performance to inform development of quantitative techniques. Consult traders or other financial industry personnel to determine the need for new or improved analytical applications. Identify, track, or maintain metrics for trading system operations. Maintain broad expertise in all product offerings. Serve as a cross-functional resource on the needs assessment and trade execution strategies. Identify high-risk problems and provide solutions, adjusting as necessary, within broad trading strategies and procedures. Provide strategic and tactical market advice to sales staff and clients. Develop pricing and trading strategies based on market research. Liaise with internal compliance, credit and risk functions on execution and trading related matters and functions. Collaborate with product development teams to research and propose quantitative structured solutions for new or expanded markets. Research new financial products or analytics to determine their usefulness. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Methods and Modeling, or a related field, and seven (7) years of experience in the job offered or in a related quantitative occupation. Seven (7) years of experience must include: Utilizing analytical support tools including dashboards to better understand ETF positions, risk exposures and PnL; Overseeing the conjunction of market data, ETF composition, and trade bookings to ensure it results in accurate representation of portfolio exposure; Monitoring risk limits from multiple angles and raising systematic risk concerns while ensuring proper escalation of limit breaches; Utilizing an understanding of database structures, queries, and programming scripts to communicate systems requirements with engineers that do not possess a deep understanding of ETF instruments; Overseeing the pricing processes by verifying accurate ETF composition data; and Utilizing the creation/redemption process of ETFs including the NAV strike timing, FX Benchmarks, and anticipation of settlement difficulties. In the alternative, employer will accept a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Methods and Modeling, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or in a related quantitative occupation. Employer will accept pre- or post- Master's degree experience. Salary Range: $190,000.00 to $246,000.00/yr. The base salary/range for this position is expected to be $190,000.00 to $246,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. Base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY Mellon Capital Markets, LLC total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will, and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. |
