Join Us in Redefining the Future of GEOINT

Are you ready to apply your systems engineering expertise to cutting-edge hyperspectral imaging technologies and help shape the future of national security? We're looking for a Senior Systems Engineer with deep experience in hyperspectral imaging (HSI) to lead transformative efforts within the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG), Allied System for Geospatial-Intelligence (ASG), and partner Federal Agencies.

This is more than a job-it's an opportunity to be at the forefront of integrating next-gen HSI capabilities into operational GEOINT systems.

Your Impact

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:

Lead cross-functional teams in integrating HSI and spectral data into advanced exploitation and analysis tools.
  • Drive requirements engineering, solution design, testing, and evaluation focused on hyperspectral data processing and application.
  • Guide the modernization of legacy systems and workflows by leveraging your HSI expertise to enhance accuracy, resiliency, and automation across cloud and hybrid environments.
  • Provide technical leadership in Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), system architecture design, and trade studies involving HSI systems and capabilities.
  • Mentor and support mid- and junior-level engineers in HSI integration, spectral tool development, and full-lifecycle systems engineering practices.
  • Partner with NGA and mission stakeholders to translate complex mission needs into advanced GEOINT capabilities using HSI technologies.

Qualifications

Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligible to participate in an attractive bonus plan.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, Imagery Analysis, or a related STEM field (or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
  • 12+ years of experience in systems engineering within DoD/IC environments, including acquisition, requirements, or large-scale systems integration.
  • Hands-on experience with hyperspectral imaging: integrating spectral data, supporting spectral exploitation tools, or architecting systems that process and analyze HSI.
  • In-depth understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI clearance and successfully pass a polygraph.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting NGA and/or mission partners.
  • Expertise in cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, hybrid environments) and how they can support spectral data processing.
  • Familiarity with GEOINT tradecraft and intelligence production workflows involving spectral imaging.
  • Experience aligning technical roadmaps with mission goals and federal acquisition processes.
Why Join Us?

You'll work alongside passionate engineers, analysts, and mission-focused innovators who are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in geospatial intelligence. You'll have the opportunity to directly influence the development of HSI-enabled systems that provide critical insight and strategic advantage to our nation's decision-makers.

Be part of something meaningful. Bring your HSI expertise and help us deliver tomorrow's GEOINT-today.
