The IT System Engineer plays a critical role in the maintenance of the stability, integrity and performance of our core infrastructure systems. A hands-on position that demands technical proficiency, operational discipline, with technical autonomy and team collaboration ensuring our IT backbone remains resilient and secure.


Responsibilities of Information Technology System Engineer:



  • Administering and supporting core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, File-share, print services, and Windows-based server environments
  • Maintaining and supporting Microsoft Azure resources (virtual machines, resource groups, networking, storage and identity integrations)
  • Managing virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, including VM provisioning, storage configuration, snapshots, and tuning performance
  • Oversee network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless systems
  • Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, including backups and replication, ensuring compliance with retention policies and business continuity plans
  • Monitoring infrastructure and system health using alerting and monitoring platforms
  • Contributing to patch management, OS lifecycle maintenance, and security hardening activities
  • Creating and maintaining documentation of systems, configurations, and SOPs
  • Implementing automation and scripting (PowerShell preferred) to streamline operational tasks
  • Collaborating with Help Desk, answering tickets and providing end-user support as required
  • Collaborating Security, and Application teams to resolve escalated incidents and support strategic infrastructure upgrades
  • Collaborating closely with the Senior IT Manager and Global IT Leadership for project alignment, prioritization, and escalation when appropriate; this role requires independent initiative but is not expected to operate in isolation



Requirements of Information Technology System Engineer :


  • 5+ years of experience in system administration or infrastructure engineering roles in a mid-to-large scale IT environment
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a System Administrator or Infrastructure Engineer role
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server environments
  • Demonstrated experience with domains and Active Directory environments
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Azure services
  • Familiarity with VMware-based virtualization platforms
  • Exposure to backup systems such as Backup Exec and/or Rubrik
  • Experience with enterprise-grade networking hardware (Cisco, Meraki), with a strong grasp of core networking fundamentals
  • Proficiency with infrastructure-related troubleshooting and incident response
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and participate in an on-call rotation as required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure, with hands-on experience provisioning and managing IaaS resources
  • Proficiency with VMware virtualization environments, including vCenter, ESXi hosts, and resource management
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery tools such as Backup Exec, Rubrik, or equivalent enterprise-grade systems
  • Experience managing and troubleshooting Cisco and Meraki networking hardware at the infrastructure level (L2/L3 concepts, port configuration, VLANs, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server roles and features (DNS, DHCP, File Services, Print Management)
  • Experience supporting and maintaining hardware including Dell, HP, or Lenovo server platforms
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell (or similar), particularly for task automation and reporting
  • Exposure to ITSM tools and understanding of change control and ticketing processes
  • Excellent documentation habits, organizational discipline, and a proactive mindset
