AVIONICS OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR (STRATEGY, ANALYTICS, AND PLANNING)

The Production Control Scheduling team is responsible for developing, monitoring, and fulfilling a Master Schedule to meet the part demands of Avionics customers, including launch manifest and development hardware. The Supervisor will train schedulers and production coordinators to maintain build schedules from cradle-to-grave for each unit and monitor the health of the system. This role allows for a direct impact on production success and opportunities to engage with all aspects of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership:



  • Provide mentoring, training, and daily guidance to the team, including career development and performance management
  • Define metrics and measures of success for the performance of the team and roll out in a clear and actionable way (ideally a dashboard for daily visibility of expectations)
  • Develop and maintain a positive culture on the team


Operations:



  • Partner with engineering to lead critical analyses for optimal design change timelines and investigation plans
  • Develop and automate production schedule and capacity plans utilizing SQL or other programming language
  • Develop and maintain reports relating to product completion status and on-time performance. Advise management when on-time order delivery is in jeopardy and create recommendation for a "get healthy" plan
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing; partner with Production Operations management to improve production flow by recommending/managing scan locations of resources or other general process improvement to speed up production pipeline
  • Attend and facilitate "Clear to Build" meetings to establish and evaluate priorities and risks to manifest schedule
  • Support continuous improvement of internal MRP/ERP system for data integrity and accuracy


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years of experience in material planning, production coordination, supply chain, scheduling or manufacturing environment
  • 1+ years of experience leading a team or project


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years of experience with automated scheduling systems (MRP/ERP)
  • 4+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing, production, or testing environment
  • Experience leading a team of 5+ people, and the ability to work and communicate well with others in a team environment
  • Ability to work with limited supervision to develop and maintain program schedules
  • Working knowledge of resource planning and materials management
  • SQL programming/Power BI development experience
  • Attention to detail, highly organized, collaborative, and ability to pivot quickly in an ever-changing production environment
  • Experience developing schedules for medium to large sized projects
  • Professional experience with Microsoft Excel and similar scheduling software
  • Strong communication skills


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Position may involve long hours and weekend work as needed. Schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility required


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Avionics Operations Supervisor: $95,000.00 - $135,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
