General information: Hitachi Energy is seeking a Vice President Strategic Market Development North America. The role is remote based. This key leadership position will drive our market development strategy and initiatives across all our market segments, applications and business units, critical to the realization of our Hitachi Energy Midterm Management Plan. Through effective management of segments leaders and collaboration across all Hitachi Energy (in NAM and globally), as well as other applicable parts of Hitachi, the position will develop and execute the detailed growth strategies and priorities in the US, Canada and Mexico. Your Responsibilities:
- Consolidate our market development strategy and execute strategic priorities across all our market segments, applications and business units in the region.
- Lead a team of segment leaders in charge of
- understanding deeply the present and future market and applications drivers, trends and technologies; thanks to interaction with key customers and networking in the industry
- building growth strategy and priorities with the NAM Strategy & Partnership VP, our global team and regional business units/functions, and front-end sales force.
- driving alignment and new solutions building initiatives internally and with partners/customers
- consolidating thought leadership and representing the company at conferences and through white papers
- The main segments and applications to focus on are
- generation (conventional, renewable, etc...)
- transmission and distribution, storage
- on the load side: data centers, transportation, O&G, mining and metals, semi-conductors...
- transversally with the digital transformation of the energy landscape
- Works closely with the countries' sales managers and sales teams to exchange intelligence on market developments and requirements and adapt our value propositions to support the achievement of sales volume and targets. Focus on particularly accelerating our Service and Grid Automation growth across all market segments and applications.
- Explore new growth opportunities, white spaces and blue oceans in existing and related segments/applications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships at senior levels with key customers, policy makers, stakeholders and decision makers, to contribute to the consolidation of Hitachi Energy thought leadership and growth.
- Contribute to annual market validation (size, competitive landscape, differentiation...), outlook and global budget target setting process.
Your Background:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 15 year's applicable experience including several years in a combination of strategy development, new market development, sales or business line leadership.
- Experience of 10+ years in the transmission and distribution industry, ideally in NAM.
- Possesses a broad and deep network within the industry composed of industry professionals, customers, policy makers (country specific and state levels) and other market players.
- Proven success in bringing together appropriate team members across an organization for exploration, building solutions and pursuit of complex new opportunities.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in NAM.
- This is a remote-based opportunity.
- Expected travel needs up to 50%, including some international travel
