Essential Job Duties |
The part-time Admissions Application Reader position was created to assist staff with reviewing first year and transfer applications for undergraduate admission. The position is fully remote. Part-time readers are expected to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week, except during weeks that include official university holidays. Readers will work from September through the beginning of April (hours are contingent upon the volume of applications received). Application review training and guidance will be provided. Candidates must reside in North Carolina. Training and work will be conducted entirely remotely and should take place

Other Work/Responsibilities |
- Read first-year and transfer undergraduate applications for admission to North Carolina State University.
- Analyze qualifications of prospective students utilizing admissions guidelines
- Evaluate electronic applications and related materials.
- Become familiar with submitting reader review forms in Technolutions Slate (Customer Relationship Manager of Undergraduate Admissions).
- Follow up with applicants by email if additional information is needed.
Conflicts of Interest and Restrictions: To avoid any conflicts of interest, we will not consider candidates who have direct personal or professional involvement with high school students. This includes but is not limited to: parents/guardians of high school students; athletic coaches involved in recruitment of student-athletes; individuals who currently work with high school students as high school staff members including teachers and counselors; individuals who work for a testing agency; independent counselors or contractors; employees at another undergraduate institution.

Minimum Experience/Education |
- Bachelor or higher degree in a related discipline or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

- BA/BS degree or a combination of education and relevant work experience to total at least four years.
- Proficiency in personal computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office or Google Workspace), e-mail, and web-based communication tools; comfortable quickly learning and adapting to new software platforms.
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be a team player
- Reliable internet and access to a personal computer
- Commitment to respect for applicant privacy and careful handling of all aspects of the admissions process
- Ability to manage time effectively, stay organized, think critically, and work independently with a high level of initiative.
- Ability to consistently work 20 hours per week from September to April
