The Jindal School of Management (
JSOM) is seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven professional to join our team as
Assistant Director for Data Analytics and Reporting. In this pivotal role, you will lead efforts in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to support strategic planning and informed decision-making across the school. You will collaborate with leadership, academic programs, and support units to deliver actionable insights through high-quality reports and visual dashboards.
This position offers a dynamic opportunity to drive meaningful impact in areas such as enrollment, student outcomes, accreditation, and institutional effectiveness. |
Minimum Education and Experience |
-Bachelor's degree in related field.
-Three plus years relevant professional experience.
-Any equivalent combination of education and experience. |
Preferred Education and Experience |

- Strong knowledge of statistics, data analysis, and data visualization techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables), Power BI, and working with data warehouses.
- Solid understanding of SQL, with demonstrated experience writing and executing complex queries to retrieve and analyze data.
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Three years of hands-on experience with SQL databases, focused on data reporting and query development.
- Proven experience in designing and maintaining interactive dashboards and data reports.
- Familiarity with institutional data, preferably in a higher education environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Dashboard Development and Maintenance
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards that deliver insights into admissions trends, enrollment patterns, and exit survey results.
- Ensure dashboards remain user-friendly, current, and aligned with stakeholder needs.
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze admissions, enrollment, and survey data to identify trends, extract insights, and support strategic decision-making.
- Deliver regular and ad-hoc reports to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Respond to data requests by retrieving information from the UTD data warehouse or other relevant university data repositories.
Rankings and Accreditation Support
- Assist with compiling and validating data for institutional and program rankings surveys.
- Support the preparation and submission of data to accreditation agencies, ensuring all requirements are met.
Survey Data Management
- Collaborate on the design and administration of undergraduate and graduate exit and salary surveys.
- Analyze survey outcomes and incorporate results into dashboards and reporting.
Collaboration and Support
- Partner with stakeholders to advance projects related to academic and career outcomes, student recruitment, and scholarship management.
- Provide analytical and technical support for a variety of short- and long-term initiatives.
Data Quality Assurance
- Perform routine audits to verify the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data and reporting.
- Develop and implement standardized processes to enhance data collection and reporting efficiency.

Remote Work Notice
A hybrid remote work schedule may be available (currently 1-day remote weekly).
Employee must be located within the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area and have the ability to be on campus for work activities as scheduled and/or with 24-hour notice. Completion and approval of a UT Dallas Remote Work Agreement will be required upon employment, and use of personal computer, internet, and other standard equipment may be required. Remote work arrangements are subject to regular review and re-approval and may be canceled at any time.
