Credence has an immediate need for a Technical Writer expected to start late Summer 2025. We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to support Air Combat Command (HQ ACC) Directorate of Cyberspace Operations and Warfighting Communications (A6) Zero Trust (ZT) Functional Management Office (FMO).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the duties listed below
Develop, write, and maintain comprehensive IT policies, strategies, and governance documents.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to gather and analyze technical and procedural information.
- Ensure all documentation complies with Air Force or DoD standards and guidelines.
- Create clear, concise, and accurate documentation for a variety of audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Review and edit documentation produced by other team members to ensure consistency and quality.
- Stay current with the latest industry trends and best practices in technical writing and IT governance.
- Be able to produce architecture diagrams, implementation guides, security configuration guides, risk analysis reports, ad compliance overviews.
- Be able to leverage tools and platforms for collaboration, documentation, version control, and diagramming.
Education, Requirements and Qualifications
- Active Secret and or TS/SCI clearance required.
- Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field
- This role requires expertise in writing IT policy, strategy, and governance, as well as experience with Air Force or DoD enterprise infrastructure, governance, policies, and procedures.
- Minimum of 4 years of IT experience, including writing IT policy, strategy, and governance.
- Experience with Air Force or DoD enterprise infrastructure, governance, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Proficiency in using documentation tools and software.
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust principles, NIST 800-207 framework, and vendor specific Zero Trust implementations
- Technical knowledge across Zero Trust domains
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with technical writing in a government or military environment.
- Knowledge of IT security and compliance standards.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Security certifications (Security +, CISSP, or Zero Trust)
- Ability to interpret security logs, understand security tools, and describe Zero Trust pilots/migrations
- User empathy to make complex technical topics understandable for successful implementation
- Familiarity with Agile practices to participate in sprint planning for implementation
