SEMCO - Gas Mechanic C

You Will:

• Operate heavy equipment, dump truck and non-automotive equipment.

• Perform Distribution or PT&S work as the second person in a crew.

• Inspect, install and maintain ERT devices.

• Repair up to 1" plastic service line.

• Perform emergency response procedures.

• Maintain residential gas light accounts.

• Relight, inspect and install all meters 630 and below.

• Relight and inspect all types of residential equipment.

• Satisfy all Operator Qualifications and possess the ability to perform all duties of the Laborer classification.

• Employees will be promoted to "B" classification based on Company need. An employee must have worked in the "C" classification for a minimum of 24 months.

• Complete or assist employees of equal or higher classifications in completing field documentation or computer related work as directed by the Company.

• Leak Survey/staking (non-exclusive)

You Have:

• Possession of a high school diploma or successful completion of a General Education Development Certificate.

• Must be capable of completing Operator Qualification Program and operations of associated equipment/tools.

• Working knowledge of computers and software is preferred.

• Ability to work independently.

• Ability to deal with the public.

• Possess the necessary physical abilities to perform various job duties.

• Must be able to obtain CDL License if required, possesses a valid driver's license, and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company's Safe Driving Policy.

• Possess the necessary physical abilities to perform the various job duties. Must be able to walk at least 10 miles per day in all types of weather conditions. Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend, crawl, kneel, walk, climb, push, pull, lift and carry 20-50 lbs., twist, reach above and below shoulder levels, fine finger movements. Must be able to work in climates of extreme cold / extreme heat. Potential exposure to stinging insects / insecticides and possible requirement to be in Respirator Program.
