As an HR Technician you will be part of our People Operations organization. This position is responsible for compliant, timely, and accurate processing of all types of employee data change requests in a multi-state, union and non-union, and international enterprise. Provides centralized data management of confidential employee information in the organization's computerized Human Resources Information Management Systems and personnel files for 7,000+ employees in multiple entities.
What You'll Do:
- Responsible for providing exceptional customer service to HR Business Partners, Industrial Relations/HR Representatives, Time Admins, employees and HR COE's.
- Responsible for working with highly sensitive and confidential information and maintaining the confidentiality of the information used during the normal course of business.
- Responsible for processing a variety of change requests for semi-monthly, biweekly, and weekly-paid employee groups, as well as international no-pay groups.
- Receives and reviews source documents/tickets for accuracy, completeness, proper authorizations, and determines appropriate entry into the HR system of record.
- Partners with and advises HR and business partners on proper coding for various employee transactions. Responds to other inquiries as appropriate.
- Responsible for training new HR staff on Corporate processes and policies.
- Responsible for working cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition (TA), Payroll, Benefits, Retirement Plans, Compensation, and HRIS to research, resolve data and/or system issues.
- Interprets and applies multiple collective bargaining agreements (CBA's), federal and state regulations, and Corporate policies and procedures, ensuring personnel transactions are in compliance at all levels.
- Responsible for ensuring Form-I-9 and E-Verify compliance and answers questions regarding requirements; conducts Form I-9 re-verifications.
- Researches and resolves complex inconsistent/inappropriate data when identified.
- Processes more complex data corrections as required, ensuring proper communication with affected department systems (Success Factors, SAP, ADP and Outlook, etc.), and interface files to outside vendors.
- Participates in internal and cross-functional projects as needed.
- Participates in internal and external audit requests as needed.
- Ensures labor law poster compliance for all Companies and/or is primary contact for vendor when needed.
- Partners with Equifax and/or processes Verifications of Employment (VOE's) and Income; troubleshoot issues, and is primary contact for vendor when needed.
- Coordinates unemployment claim information; troubleshoot issues.
- Develops and runs queries to audit employee data. Makes recommendations when errors are identified.
- Establishes and maintains personnel files, records and documentation.
- Using Lean methodology makes recommendations to and adapts procedures, processes and techniques, ensuring reference documentation remains current as necessary.
- Participates in testing for system upgrades, changes or issues.
What You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of administrative support experience to include Human Resources reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of administrative support to include Human Resources reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
- Discretion required in dealing with confidential information.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Skilled in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook at a basic level.
- Skilled in reading, comprehending, interpreting and executing simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
- Skilled in writing routine reports and correspondence.Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing using whole numbers.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. Compensation:
- Hiring Salary Range: $27.16 - $36.68
- Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
