Under direction of the Information & Educational Technology Desktop Services (IETDS) supervisor and team leads, the IT Support Specialist provides second-tier computer workstation and IT services support onsite at Aggie Square. Provide support for computer hardware and peripherals, Windows and macOS operating systems, application software, AV equipment and IT services as well as troubleshoot hardware, software and network connectivity issues. This position assists in the management of Windows and Mac workstations such as planning, building, initializing, and updating workstations as new releases, upgrades, patches, and hotxes become available and approved. Creating, maintaining, and following documented procedures. Congure workstations to match department or unit specic congurations and to comply with campus security policies. Also, maintain hardware and software asset management data in accordance with policies and procedures, assist with computer warranty repairs, and coordinate computer disposal in accordance with University and department timelines, standards, and guidelines. The Specialist also supports classroom technology infrastructure including video conferencing tools, projectors and instructional software, ensuring seamless operations and timely resolution to avoid learning disruptions. This position demands a high degree of integrity and exceptional customer service skills supporting desktop systems and applications used by UCD staff and faculty.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
- Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Experience to provide technical support for current versions of Microsoft Oce Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience to provide support for wired and wireless networks.
- Experience to provide end-user support for Microsoft Exchange services, and support for current Microsoft Outlook and mobile Microsoft Exchange clients.
- Experience to provide support for Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects.
- Knowledge of and ability to provide technical support for physical and logical disk management, data encryption, printer and other device drivers, peripheral connection technologies and devices that use USB, FireWire, serial, parallel, and Thunderbolt; numerous email clients, web browsers, and software programs and packages.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience assimilating technical concepts, terms and material, and explaining this material to nontechnical clients at various levels of an organization.
- Experience to deploy, maintain, and support workstations using Microsoft Deployment Toolkit and Jamf Pro.
- Experience to deploy, maintain, and monitor hardware and software assets with BigFix.
- Knowledge of the OSI 7-layer model and its application to IP networking.Knowledge of the ITIL Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Request Fulfillment concepts.

Work Environment
