PURPOSE:

The Senior Product Manager - Consumer is essential for driving the business's success and growth by overseeing a portfolio of products that address customer needs and add value to the Performance Brands business. This role involves defining and communicating the vision and strategy for Royal Purple and Bel-Ray products and portfolios, while managing the entire product life cycle from concept to various stages of maturity. The Senior Product Manager - Consumer will evaluate the broader industry and market, identifying changes and trends that present significant business challenges or opportunities to foster product development activities(launch, enhance, sunset). Additionally, the role requires building strong, collaborative relationships with business partners across the organization to identify efficienciesand enhance execution.

OBJECTIVESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop and communicate a 5-year product line strategy, ensuring alignment with marketing and customer strategies.
  • Understand future automotive and powersports markettrends and communicate key insights to internal stakeholders.
  • Know Performance Brands' key consumer customers and understand the competitive landscape.
  • Develop and communicate the product line value proposition to key internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinate business case development with marketing and sales (size of prize, chance of success, investmentrequired).
  • Manage the product portfolio throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Define pricing for new product introductions and track success metrics.
  • Keep up to date on market pricing and provide insights to thepricing coordinator/sales.
  • Develop product line architecture and ensure product claims/approvals are up to date with R&D.
  • Lead, coach, develop, and manage consumer product management and R&D team
  • Work closely with R&D to ensure timely newproduct introductions.
  • Continuous process improvement including businesscase management, product development and commercialization.
  • Engage with procurement and operations for new product planning, forecasting, and alternate raw materials.
  • Engage and support third-party relationships, including key additive and base oils suppliers.
  • Use 80/20 principles to manage product complexity and identify more cost-effective formulations.
  • Help advocate market position and work with Marketing to promote the product line.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:


  • Bachelor's degree in business, chemistry, or chemical engineering.
  • Minimum of 10+years of experience in product management, sales, and/or new business development in the lubricants, petrochemical, or related industries with a global market focus.
  • Proven ability to set future vision and develop strategies across multiple business segments, driving business growth and achieving aspirational goals.
  • Expertise in value proposition design to create products and services that meet customer needs.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, maintaining, and growing strategic industry relationships, effectively establishing, and increasing credibility both externally and internally.
  • Successful track record in leading and managing cross functional teams of business professionals, end-user specialists, and related staff.
  • Strong leadership in new business development processes, enabling organic and inorganic growth.
