About the Position The Ballot Tabulation Technician is a key member of the ballot tabulation team, supporting various stages of the ballot tabulation process including ballot proofing, equipment testing, adjudication, duplication, and ballot tabulation. This role also assists with training and supporting temporary election workers. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with prior election experience. We Require
Two years of administrative experience High school diploma or GED A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
Other Requirements
Must successfully complete and maintain the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification Must be registered or eligible to register to vote in the state of Arizona Must complete a signature comparison class Must possess, or have the ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license Must complete a thorough background screening Mandatory overtime during all election cycles

Job Contributions
Assists with organizing, building, and proofing ballots Supports ballot tabulation by operating tabulation equipment, maintaining accurate logs, and handling the disposition of counted ballots Assists with Pre-and Post-Election Logic & Accuracy (L&A) testing conducted in-house, preparation for the hand count audit batch tabulation, setup of electronic voter check-in equipment before elections, and post-election maintenance of tabulation equipment Assists with training and leading temporary election workers Drafts, reviews, and updates standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the tabulation team as processes evolve Learns and supports adjudication and duplication procedures to assist team members working in those areas Provides assistance to other divisions
Working Conditions
Exerting up to 10-25 lbs. for a minimum distance of 20 feet Ability to sit or stand for extended periods Ability to review small fonts on a hard copy or computer screen for an extended period of time Position is typically office or administrative work and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions Must not engage in any political discussion
